Oxfam Trailwalk — Feb 2012
100 km — 34 hours!!!
A moment of ecstasy — participated in the first ever Oxfam Trailwalker organized in India where teams of 4 had to participate and traverse a distance of 100 km in a maximum of 48 hours — the walk started on 10 Feb 2012 at 0700 hours from Mekedatu, Sangam and was to finish latest by 12 Feb 2012 at 0700 hours at Eagleton Gold Resort, Bidedi (outskirts of Bangalore). Four of us (Amrita, Rubin, Manish, and me) represented Reliance PE (Team Name: Serendipity) and we (barring Manish who had to opt out after 47 km on account of severe blisters on his feet) COMPLETED THE EVENT IN 34 HOURS — which included walking through Bannerghatta National Park in the night!!
In the bargain, also made good friends like Som, Vishal, Don, Jayeeta, Archesh, Anand. Ninganna who was lent to us by Sukumar and Ravi proved to be excellent support aided by Manish once he opted out of the walk.
